RSW, MSW
I’m Stacey (They/Them), and I’m a queer and neurodiverse therapist with a deep commitment to community, relationality, and reciprocity.
I strive to create a therapeutic environment where you can feel safe, accepted, and free to be yourself – humour, authenticity, creativity, and quirks are welcome here.
What you bring into the therapy room may be complex, could be difficult to talk about, or that maybe you don’t even know where to start. People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons which deserve the time and space to be explored.
My role as a therapist is to work alongside you to navigate the challenges you’re faced with, discover new possibilities for how to move forward, and to handle the stories that you bring to therapy, your lived experiences, with care, respect, and empathy as I support you on your journey.
My main modality of practice is Narrative Therapy, which basically means that I work with stories. I practice from the understanding that the stories we tell about ourselves shape our reality, our relationships, and what is possible for us in the future.
When we explore your narratives together with a focus on choice, resilience, and growth, you can work to re-author them in a way that evokes healing, empowerment, and opens new pathways for what happens next in your life.
Outside of the therapy room you can find me doing yoga, playing music (DJing, guitar, piano, accordion...), going on walks, reading, playing video games, losing at chess, enjoying a good conversation, trying to keep plants alive, and attempting to teach my cat Cricket tricks (black cats are seen as unlucky, crickets are considered lucky in some cultures, so by naming my black cat 'Cricket' it balances out, right?). I also love humour, and consider having a good laugh to be a useful therapeutic intervention that I try to engage in every day.
